Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about Pyneora's cybersecurity advisory services.

What areas does Pyneora service?

Pyneora is based in Sydney and works with businesses across Australia. Most engagements are delivered remotely, with on-site availability across Sydney, Central Coast and Newcastle. We work with organisations in NSW, VIC, QLD and nationally for advisory and project work.

What size businesses does Pyneora work with?

We work with Australian businesses typically between 5 and 200 staff - organisations that need enterprise-grade security but don't have a dedicated security team. This includes professional services, healthcare, financial services, utilities and government-adjacent organisations.

What qualifications does Pyneora's security architect hold?

Asish Narayan, founder and lead architect, holds CISSP certification, various Microsoft credentials, and undertook an MBA with Cybersecurity Specialisation. He brings over 20 years of experience across ASX Top 50 enterprises, NSW Government and critical infrastructure.

Does Pyneora do Essential Eight or ISO 27001 assessments?

Yes. Pyneora delivers independent ASD Essential Eight, ISO 27001 and other industry security maturity assessments for Australian businesses. Each assessment produces a current-state scorecard across all required controls and a prioritised remediation roadmap aligned to your target maturity level. Fixed price, delivered by a senior architect.

What is a Fractional CISO and does my business need one?

A Fractional CISO is an experienced security leader engaged on a part-time retainer rather than as a full-time hire. If your business handles sensitive data, faces compliance requirements, or has a board that asks security questions - but can't justify a full-time CISO salary - a fractional arrangement gives you the leadership without the overhead.

Can Pyneora help secure our Microsoft 365 environment?

Yes - M365 security is a core Pyneora specialisation. We review and harden configurations across Entra ID, Defender, Purview and SharePoint. Most M365 tenants have significant security gaps out of the box. We identify them, fix them, and document the changes so your team understands what's in place.

How does Pyneora price its services?

Pyneora engagements are generally fixed price - no time-and-materials billing or surprise invoices. Each engagement is scoped upfront with a clear deliverable, timeline and price. Retainer services such as Fractional CISO are billed monthly at a fixed rate.
