Microsoft Entra PIM
Just-in-time privileged access for your Microsoft 365 environment - reducing standing admin rights and your exposure to credential-based attacks.

Get in TouchStanding Privileged Access Is One of the Most Common Attack Vectors
Standing privileged access - administrator accounts that have permanent, always-on elevated rights - is one of the most common attack vectors in Microsoft 365 environments. If an attacker compromises the credentials of a permanent Global Administrator, they have immediate, unrestricted access to your entire tenant.
In practice, most Microsoft 365 tenants accumulate far more permanent Global Administrators and privileged role assignments than they actually need. Accounts are granted admin rights for a one-off task and never downgraded, former staff retain access long after they've moved on, and "just in case" admin accounts pile up over years.
When a standing-privileged account is compromised - through phishing, credential stuffing, or a leaked password - the attacker doesn't need to escalate privileges. They already have them. Microsoft Entra Privileged Identity Management (PIM) closes this gap by making elevated access time-bound, approved, and auditable.
Microsoft Entra PIM Implementation
We replace permanent admin rights with a just-in-time access model - configured, documented, and handed over so your team can run it day to day.
Privileged Role Discovery & Audit
We identify every standing privileged role assignment across Entra ID - including Global Administrator, Privileged Role Administrator, Exchange Administrator, and other high-impact roles - so you have a complete picture of who can do what.
Just-in-Time Access Configuration
We configure PIM eligible and active role assignments, replacing permanent admin rights with time-bound activation windows that expire automatically.
Approval Workflows
Sensitive role activations require approval from a designated approver before access is granted - adding a human checkpoint to high-risk privilege escalation.
MFA Enforcement for Role Activation
Multi-factor authentication is required at the point of activation, ensuring privileged access cannot be granted on a compromised password alone.
Access Reviews
We configure recurring access reviews so privileged role assignments are regularly re-certified - removing access that's no longer needed before it becomes a liability.
Audit Logging & Alerting
All privileged role activations, approvals, and changes are logged and alerted on, giving you visibility into exactly when and why elevated access is used.
How We Implement PIM
A phased rollout means your admin team is never left without access - and every change is documented as we go.
Discovery
We audit your current Entra ID environment to identify every standing privileged role assignment, including Global Admins, role admins, and any permanent elevated access that's accumulated over time.
Design
We define your eligible vs active role model - deciding which roles should require activation, the duration of access, and the approval workflow for each sensitive role.
Implementation
We configure PIM policies, integrate with Conditional Access for MFA enforcement, and set up notifications so activations are visible to the right people.
Handover
You receive documentation of the new privileged access model, a recurring access review schedule, and training for your admin team on requesting and approving activations.
